The Art of Hiring

Sharing three most important videos I saw in recent few years on hiring. All three are from one event and focus on how to hire, hiring in “founder mode” and hiring IC’s (Individual Contributors).

Do not miss them.

Creator Economy 2025

I’ve covered the creator economy landscape quite a lot in past years, but not this year and time to catch up. The creator economy is over 200 million creators monetizing their individuality across various platforms and now mostly focused on AI integration, community building, and revenue diversification. Let’s go deeper

The number of people becoming creators continues to hit new highs. We believe that in the future, most of us will take on the role of creators—whether as a full-time career or alongside our day-to-day jobs. It’s rapidly becoming the career of choice for many Gen Zers, who prioritize financial independence and entrepreneurial ambition. As we explored in a recent newsletter on how Gen Z is shaping the future, this generation is redefining career paths and influencing the next wave of creators.

But today, it’s fewer startups:

This year, we've seen a noticeable decline in the number of new startups building for creators. In contrast to the hundreds of startups that emerged in our previous three editions, this year's count is significantly lower.

Why the slowdown? Startups raised too much capital too quickly.

And more and more people trusting creators and influencers:

THe three areas of focus for builders on this space are, again: AI integration, community building, and revenue diversification.

AI Integration and Tools:

  • Translation services enabling global reach from day one

  • Productivity tools for content creation and management

  • Image and video generation capabilities

  • Automated community management and engagement

Community Building:

  • Emphasis on creating engaged, sustainable communities

  • Focus on personalized experiences and direct creator-fan relationships

  • Platforms supporting community monetization

  • Integration of AI for scalable community management

Revenue Diversification:

  • Multiple income streams beyond traditional content creation

  • Product launches and merchandise

  • Paid communities and courses

  • Brand partnerships and sponsorships

AI tools enable a much broader market, proper community building enables an engaged audience and diversification enables multiple streams of revenue.

The market is expected to double by 2027, with 70% of Gen Z aspiring to become creators. What’s more important, it represents now a significant shift from traditional media consumption to creator-driven content. This year, the traditional media voice has been made insignificant vs. creators.

Roles at a VC Firm

The Right Way To Do AI Engineering Updates

When working on “AI” most of the time you experiment a lot and most of the time you fail experimenting. Until it works, and then it’s magic. In between every experiment, there’s engineering work and communication about what worked and what didn’t. And it’s a crucial factor in making great decisions about what to do next.
